I want to state that “the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh so that ye may not do the things that ye will” (Galatians 5:17). To actually be about the Father’s business means many times laying down our own will. It did for Jesus. He said, “I do not seek my own will but the will of the Father who sent me” (John 5:30). We need to recognize God’s purpose for our lives during those moments where we would perhaps rather indulge our self-interests or run from the demanding implications of His leading at that time.
Are we mature enough in Christ to actually understand what our Father’s business really is? May it be fully recognized and applied in this new upcoming year.
At the moment I'm reading the Bible in front of the fireplace. Reading through JUDGES in the Bible is not the easiest to do (especially 19-21). There's some truly horrifying accounts of what the people did when they turned away from God and sought to do what was right in their own eyes. Disobedience always brings judgment. The Israelites present a perfect example of what we are not to do. Instead of learning from experience that God will always punish rebellion against Him, they continued to disobey and suffer God’s displeasure and discipline. If we continue in disobedience, we invite God’s discipline, not because He enjoys our suffering, but “because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son” (Hebrews 12:6).

It's a message board. There is a sense of community on here, but a lot of us simply transitioned over to talking/posting more on Facebook. That's all.
