Just saw him on Fallon while at work. Not sure what the first song he performed was but the second one that started as it was cutting to commercial was All I Need Is You, third one was Made In America.

Crae at the BET awards spoken word piece:
“They tellin’ us make “America Great Again”
I’m like hol’ up, when was America great again?
Was it when they took us from our native land?
Or maybe it was when they took the natives’ land?
Let me be quiet
Nah ‘Cause being silent is pitiful
It’s something I never do
After Philando, man, I’m wondering where was you?
They ask for your opinion
All you thinking is revenue
Never do
I pray to God he make you a better you
Now, I know
Some of us we don’t know who we are
We’re too content with the gold and the cars
We got low self-esteem chasing dreams
With a goal in our heart
But society then drove us apart
Look at us from sellin’ dope to our own kind
To a dope rhyme
Radio then played it more times
Paid in more dimes
To some industry exec
Getting checks
From a private prison
With the rap money he invest
Now, I know you’re like is this rap or is this gospel
Look, all you need to know is that I was blind
Now I’m not though
Real recognize real
If they don’t love me like ‘Pac
They gon’ respect how I’m moving
And then I’m never gonna stop
‘Cause we was taken from Africa
Sold and treated like animals
Culturally denigrated and separated from families
But somehow we made it this far
And stood firm
With nappy hairs and perms
And led for two terms”
I have a problem with the bolded because it implies that people travel across town to commit crime. They don't. Crime is done where you live. 92% of identified European murder victims are murdered by other Europeans. That percentage is higher than every group.
Anyone read Lecrae's open letter?
My hearts so heavy for him.

Okay, when diversity is made into an idol, we become self-centered and divisive. When every difference is treated as sacred, selfishness rules and oneness is sacrificed in favor of individual preference. When we exalt our preferences over unity, we become demanding and proud, rather than selfless and forgiving.
Race, race, race, race, race. This is all I'm hearing over and over again. What is the solution to all this mess? Well, in our modern culture, the focus on diversity can become its own god. Diversity itself is revered rather than the One who created that diversity. An emphasis on diversity tends to highlight our differences. God is more concerned with unity. Galatians 3:28 says, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” God is saying that our differences are not what should define the children of God. Those who belong to the Lord Jesus should first define themselves as God’s children. We must be willing to set diversity aside in favor of unity in spirit.
“I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me” (John 17:23).

This world is quite depressing. We need to spend more time in the Word than the news on TV and what's happening around us. The only cure is Jesus.

Serious question- What factors do you feel helped Lecrae and Reach become the face of CHH for a season? Was it the in your face Christianity of Rebel? It resonated with people and they loved the beats/sound? Was it that Cross Movement had started to lose ground to Reach? I feel like a few years ago, Reach was the biggest thing out there. Especially with their string of releases with Rebel, Rehab, Identity Crisis, Lions and Liars, Between Two Worlds, expanding by bringing on Pro, KB, and Andy Mineo. I would say that Reach is still influential, but there is definitely a growing fan base behind other labels like Humble Beast or Lampmode.
(Not sure if this belongs in this thread, but I figured since it had to do with Lecrae, it was good)
The main vice of capitalism is the uneven distribution of prosperity. The main vice of socialism is the even distribution of misery
As a kid I dreamed of seeing chh on shows like this. Now i'm pretty underwhelmed.
