It really is amazing to see what God is doing through Lecrae.

Without a doubt Lecrae is the most popular CHH artist but is he the most open artist whos willing to work with others? I say this because despite the fact that he is the most popular rapper he is collaborating with many artists not just his fellow reach record artists...for example he has collaborated with the breax, katalyst, von won, propaganda, christon gray, chris tomlin, toby mac, wit, Dre murray, beautiful eulogy, 10th ave north, family force 5.kj52, Mouthpiece etc.... So he has worked with many artists and is aware of other artists while on the other hand ive seen other big name artists like Flame, Tbone etc who have been asked what are some of the other christian artists or rappers that theyre listeining too or would like to work with and they both have said that theyre pretty ignorant as to others music...so with that being said i believe that even though he is the most famous Lecrea is the most open to work with others and does pay attention to other artists in the genre and does collabs with pretty much anybody well known or not.
Truth collabs with a lot of people and has been doing this far longer, I think Lecrae is more strategic with his collaborations, whereas Manny just be haphazard with his. Also I think Lecrae has said countless times he's not just open to collabing with anyone. What unknown artists has Crae collabed with? I see him linking with established acts outside his fanbase for exposure. I haven't seen him do songs with nobodies. I'm glad he doesn't just collab with people in his clique that's what 50 did and we seen what hapened to those guys...
I think most artists are only going to collaborate with artists who are going to bring them up higher to some degree (e.g., known secular underground emcee (Saigon) bringing Lecrae more exposure to the broad hip hop community while Lecrae (one of the hotter artists out now) brings potentially new audiences to Saigon's fanbase).
In CHH, there are seems to also be:
1. built relationships
2. mutual respect for each other's craft and/or
3. intertwined crews/doctrinal beliefs.
I think these are the main reasons CHH artists collaborate. It still doesn't mean that CHH "emcee mainstream" will collaborate with CHH "emcee dope lyrical genius" though.

Except in the general hip hop market, many artists collaborate just because one (or both) of them are hot at the moment…or an OG emcee may collab with a new hot emcee to revitalize his/her brand (e.g., 50 Cent and Master P recently recording songs with Chief Keef).
That doesn't necessarily happen in CHH, if at all.
Interesting conversation.
For what it's worth, T-bone (who's popularity peaked years ago) was one of the first Christian emcees to collaborate with "secular" artists, from KRS-One, Mista Grimm, Mack 10, and Chino XL to the likes of Montell Jordan & Lil' Zane. He certainly worked with many "secular" producers over the years: Bobcat, Muffla, King Tech, Fredwreck & Darkchild (who have produced for the likes of 2Pac, Easy-E, Ice Cube, Snoop, Xzibit, LL Cool J, Run DMC...
What I find curious is that while he has collaborarted with many "Christian" & "Gospel" artists (i.e. Yolanda Adams, Toby Mac, Israel & New Breed, Rachel Lampa, Audio Adrenaline, Michael Tait & Carman) over the years, I believe it's been 20 years since he last collaborated with fellow "Christian" emcees (i.e. Freedom Of Soul), or even earlier when he was down with J.C. & The Boyz.

But lecrae won't THAT big when 13 letters dropped if memory serves correct, plus weren't yall affiliated just like Kareem was prior to collab? or did the collaboration precede the relationship? sn: you need to do another VA show.

Well, I think it happens that his relationship with a lot of the Christian emcees was pretty strained over the years. He used models of mainstream radio to get some of the collabs, and I'm sure his relationship with Sway helped. He does get overlooked a lot in the areas you mentioned, as do Gospel Gangstaz, Grits, Cas Metah, etc, etc, etc, as far as all of these "new" types of collabs go with secular artists and producers. The list is long of emcees who have done this, many years ago all the way up to currently. It's definitely not a competition, but it's most certainly interesting to see the reactions change and opinions shift, solely based on who's doing it.
"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions..."
I think Lecrae has the most collabs in such a short period of time. Something tells me we should be expecting a Lecrae & Mary Mary collab soon.
This video might help the conversation.
