Thoughts on the new album?!?!?! I really like Cry For You. I always dig introspective songs. The rest of the album is ok. I'm not a huge fan of the sound. I can't quite describe it, but the beats and the way he changes his voice to rap on the songs doesn't appeal to me. I'll give it a few more listens but I'm not a huge fan of the modern sound.

Can't believe Crae just released a new album and there is a total of two posts about it. Man, HC sure is different now. It's sad. Now that I've moved on to the next phase of my life, it was the one arena where I could still discuss CHH, but now it's basically dead.

I like the album. Listened to it twice through today in the whip. Favorite tracks on first listen: Come and Get Me, Always Knew, Whatchu Mean. I'm a fan of the beats, the production is stellar and this album bumps. From a peripheral listen, I like what I heard from the lyrics, but I'm going to have to listen more closely.

Note: I'm not a huge fan of the "modern sound" of hip hop, but I do like this album. But I definitely know what you're saying regarding that.

    Being broke made me Rich
    Being broke made me Rich

    ...I can't stop.. saying that

The beat to that song and the lyrixs cut me up like a meat market. I wish he could have added more Gospel to this song but it speaks volumes appreciation and every one can relate to this song to some degree.

Okay, I played it while at work and the album is not to my liking in terms of style, and as far as meat goes....well, soon Beautiful Eulogy will have a new album out. #still Jesus

What them white old guys.. ughh...you have got to be kidding me right? ha.. I worry about hip hop and rap its drowning badly. I maybe stereotyping but i can't take them seriously, they way to old to be rapping but if that's what you like then hey more power to you but not my style. I stick with who and what make the rap what it is today.

Um, sister. Don't know how to break this to you. But Braille is ~36 years old. Not sure about Odd Thomas. But Lecrae is 37 years old.

I was surprised how much I liked the samples I listened to from Lecrae's new record. I'll probably never listen to it in full, but there's at least some motivation there to give a listen sometime.

I know!!! Back in the day there would have been like a thread for each individual song! haha

I'm digging a few of the songs. I've been listening to it mostly as I've done other work so I think I may need to kind of sit down and really listen to it. But yeah, glad you understand what I'm saying regarding the "modern sound". I had someone tell me that as long as the message is good, I shouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater. Which isn't what I was doing. I was just saying that since I can't really get behind the beats, I might not be able to listen to it repeatedly.

Nope, not kidding. I love them old white guys with grey hair. Their music is a real blessing these days.

sorry. they ah right. I get a tad bit frustraded when people diss artist that I like. Lecrae is main stream he must be doing something right. his music must be sounding real good if a secular production signs him. I don't see any other Christian rappers doing this good. so I smell hate.

I'm not offended. It's just music.

Many artists who aren't saved are mainstream yet they're on their way to hell, so that argument is nonsense. There's a lot of great music that's independent so that argument is also nonsense. And when did secular become the standard for what is good?

Im not talking about other mainstream rappers I am talking about Lecrae and if you re saying just because Lecrae is mainstream that hes on his way to hell then your wrong.

and you are right, there are Independent artist that are good but they get scouted out and signed.

    If they want...

I don't believe in telling people they are going to hell only God can do that.

but there are christian singers that could be on there way to hell also, I do not believe once saved always. Its to risky lol

Have You heard of P.O.D? they were signed back in 2001 to Alantic Records One hit wonders but on fire for God.

Then they aren't true Christians. As far as once saved always saved goes, you can't be saved one day and unsaved the next, etc...

Hate Crae's new album. Sounds like the trash style that's on the radio.

Never thought I'd be liking a Zema comment for quite some time, however this couldn't be ignored! In full agreement here!
