    Default Holy Hip Hop sales

Last week's sales. (of Aug. 23rd)
    Rank - Artist - This week|Percent Difference|Prior week|Total

    32 LECRAE REHAB 1,397| -4| 1,462| 109,689
    50 LECRAE REHAB: THE OVERDOSE 742| 2| 726| 49,780
    53 TEDASHII BLACKLIGHT 690| -10| 767| 20,561
    72 FLAME CAPTURED 420| 46| 288| 14,320
    74 THI'SL BEAUTIFUL MONSTER 414| -37| 653| 3,025

Flame is the winner here, imo. He signed to himself. He should see close enough paper from royalty sales as Lecrae, but not shows etc..

These dudes are selling more than some major rap cats. I mean not impressive in the number itself, but good to know they're impacting.

Isn't Lecrae technically signed to himself, too? He did co-found Reach.

Depends on what your definition of caked is. Last time I checked he wasn't blowing up maybachs in his videos

Man, unless my math is bad(which is very possible), then they've made almost $2 million off Rehab/Overdose.

Whether he making it rain, riding maybachs, or sowing faith seed to Creflo he made dollars, he caked my friend. If it's his own label as mentioned.

JT031, that should be the ball park.
Undadog, sales figure comes from Soundscan. Good luck finding it online sometimes or know someone who gets or label. lol

God has given them much much much wisdom in how to best steward the money well. Truly admirable the ways they protect themselves.

Let's just say overdose and rehab were sold off itunes. That's $1,594,690

but how much money does Itunes charge per album sale? I'm sure that takes a bit, and if some of that is physical cd's, they have to pay to make the cd, case, and shipping. Then they have to pay their taxes. So then it's a lot less, but very impressive in sales numbers.

so itunes charges 30%per album or single sale. now IF lecrae owns reach, he doesnt pay the label anything, so as a result much of that money would be goin straight into his bank account.

Even with pressin cds, its really not that expensive, especially with the fact that they have a distribution label...

so at the end, the reach dudes would be pocketin a large amount of that money!

These numbers surprised me. Especially the Thi'sl and Tedashii numbers. For albums that were up high on iTunes for a little while I thought they would have higher total album sales. I have no idea how to estimate what a new album will do sales wise but this is eye opening.

Man, Flame's album is only two spots ahead of Thiz and it's sold 10,000+ more copies.

IiTunes charts can be deceiving if you rely on it for actual sale performance.
It's nothing but a server shifting mp3 folders up and down in ranks only a certain times.
Ex: If only 10 buys Flame for half this week while 6 buys Lil Wayne on Itunes for that moment it appear to the public This'l is outselling him overall. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne is selling 1k copy per hour at Best Buy FYE and so on nationwide. CD's are still outselling Digital.

Thx. I'm not sure how the charts are comprised and how CHH has historically sold. Do you know the best celling CHH cds (current or historic)?

Probably Grits or KJ52 if we're going off of strictly hip-hop..Toby Mac and old school DC Talk would probably have crazy sales as well.

That means they keep it in shoe boxes and guard them with AK's and guard dogs, right?

Either way it's on the positive side of 6 figures. That is living comfortably. Props to those guys. I'd be happy selling 10k albums yo. (on the low, that's kinda my dream. LOL. I'd be able to live off that, easy). Selling units ain't as easy as you would think.
Pick up that new Cram Session (7) featuring Sev Statik, Theory Hazit, Wonder Brown, Nomis, Antioch Alumni, myself and some new blood that you haven't heard yet. http://antiochalumni.bandcamp.com/releases

I'm a secular rapper who raps Christian.

Didn't Lecrae say somewhere all of his profit went back into RR or reachlife, voluntarily? Though i read that from him somewhere.
