I cant see why ppl say AMerican gangster was soo baad when Jay pulled off the best storytelling he's ever done on that album.
But anyways in the context of the theme(the rise and fall of the drug dealer) Jay ultimately tells us that no matter how high you get you will fall..."Gravity is gon get ya"
EXPLIXIT
Ill even go as far to say that many of Jay's recent works are the cries of a Solomon whos had everything but essentially says "Is this all?" And the last verse rlly speaks on the fact that nothing new is under the sun..and what you did on this earth will get taken by a newer generation.

AG is terrible to me because he regressed with his conceptual return to Iceberg Slim.. he saw on KC that the game wasnt ready to Man Up so he wanted to capitalize on his drug dealing past. Also Hello Brooklyn hurts my soul, I hate that cd. Lyrically Jay fell off, his 3rd verse on Ignorant was underwhelming, in comparison to the OG verses.. again when I say this is his worst cd it's still better than most but like he said, "like his old stuff, buy his old album".. i took his advice, lol.

i meant to say AG not BP3.. edited
..Ignorant OG version is dope, +Beanie & the new Jay verse came off forced..
BP3 was Jay trying too many experimental sounds, it was decent but I'd rather play he never made half of it or atleast had different beats (Reminder, Venus v. Mars, Already Home) also Run This Town should have been on Rihanna's cd and Jay & Ye should've been the feature.

I rlly dont see how Jay fell off in AG
Pray was dope...his refernces were soo genius imo "Im cut from the cloth of the Kennedys/Frank sinatra having dinner with the Genovese" and his storytelling on that song was superb Setting up the setting as to why the Dealer of the album is gonna move weight
American dreamin beat was dope..Jay was pretty bleh on the track tho..but he id a good job giving insight to the "dealer's" mindset and dreams due to the setting portrayed on Pray
Hello Brooklyn was garbo
I like No Hook alot.. Jay's flow on that track was ill
Roc Boys was a bangin singler imo
I Know is a genius song he personified drugs better than anyone Ive ever heard the double entendre of the ex bf/gf relationship and drug addict and drug relationship was awesome..ANd the beat was awesome too
I can go on and on but AG is heavily underrated...I cant for the life of me understand why but AG is a classic imo
1.Reasonable doubt
2.Life and Times of S Carter
3.Blueprint
4.AG
5.Black Album
6.Blueprint 2
7.Kingdom Come
8.Vol 2 Hard knock Life
if its not on the list i havent heard it..Yes I havent heard Blueprint 3...whats deterring me is becuz I sorta blocked myself from listening to Jay Z after AG becuz of his more apparent blasphemies but meh :/
I know Im gonna get killed for putting AG b4 Black Album
Christian Rappers need to grow up.
Do you think Christians are better than non-Christians in every argument, that's the vibe I get from your posts? Just curious..
