Greetings in Christ fam!
On behalf of all the mods and the other admins, Welcome to HCR's message board!
Here at HCR, we're tryin' to build up a community, not just another message board with people from wherever throwin' electrons and bible verses back and forth at each other with the submit button.
Tell us a bit about yourself, age, what church you fellowship at and anything else you'd like to share (including how you found us).
May your time on HCR be good time and may the conversations here stimulate your thinking and challenge you to grow in your walk with Christ.
Grace and Peace,
BC
I suppose I'll be the first to respond and break the ice...
I'm not "new", but as you might have noticed by my post count, I don't post often. Aside from one, I haven't met anybody from here in person. So here it goes!
I'm 25 (born in 81) and fellowship at a congregation called The Book of Acts Church International in Minneapolis. Within the Church I teach the Bible to teenagers, as well as work with the audio and video.
I found out about HCR when somebody posted a link on the Lampmode message board to the Common Denominator Show. I lurked around the boards for about a month when I saw Todd Bangz hosting a beat battle. That's when I joined the forums.
Aside from Church, I have worked at a medical clinic since October of 2001. I have been making beats since about '97. How's that fer an introduction?
I almost forgot to say my name. You can call me Eric.
Peace

I'm 17 and I live in (well, around) Memphis, Tennessee. I go to Central Church, though I'm still new there. I found this board cause I talked to 1-Lyfe on the ReachRecords boards, so I just signed up like 2 days ago on this one. You can call me NAte, Natha, Crossover, that really cool dude who is so smart (my personal favorite), or whatever.

I'm kinda new. I'm 26, and I go by Cowboy because someone gave me that nickname about 7 or 8 years ago. Been around this movement for a long time and know some of you from other places(Sphere, HHZ, Godzhouse, Syntax, etc). I live in Oklahoma and I go to Rhema Bible Church. Some people on here like me, some don't. But it's alright. I got love for everyone, even if we disagree.
What's up Fam? I'm 28 years old and attend Antioch Baptist in Oviedo, Fla. I don't remember how I found HCR, but I'm glad I did. I hope to gain some insight in here and get to know some good people

gidday mates!! (sorry, we had an aussie band visit and i feel like a crocodile hunna tiday mate)
Mi nombre es David, and yes, I am not an Aussie. I am 28 and attend Calvary Chapel Central Santa Ana. My brother sent me a link to a thread on this board about eschatology since he knows I am an eschatology weirdo.
I work at UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA as a pbx operator.
I handle the sound and audio in our congregation which is nice since I have a backround in audio as a dj since '97. I have worked as a producer, engineer, mc, etc. in the past but have put that on the altar for now. I can't do nothing at this time but can see the potential for the future. HCR gives me some hope that there are other people like myself who are not feeling 'the other stuff' as someone put it in another thread.
In the secular world I was more of an 'underground head' or supported 'indi artists' if that means anything to anyone. I am pretty much anti-mainstream or anti-commercial when it comes to hip hop. I wasn't feeling it in the world and don't feel it in the body either.
I honestly would just like to get my hands on some instrumentals and go back to doing what I do best, mixing it up, but it's not like that at all. It's not like I can walk up into Amoeba and pick up a set of dub's for CM or Corey Red on vynil or anything like that. So I chucked the mixing up on the altar for a minute.. there's ways around it but I'm set in my ways for now. There's nothing like good 'ole fashion trick mixing with dub's and instrumentals which is no longer an option (as far as I know) for someone like myself so I quit for now.. but me thinks I may go out and investigate Serrato. =)

What's good wit it, Fam. I'm Duane, but I go by the nickname Arizona Black. Not really sure why. No clever story behind it just sounded like a cool super hero name. I'm 30 and I reside in Tampa, Flawda.
I attend Crossover Community Church here in Tampa (where the honorable Pastor "Urban D" presides). I'm a lover of the artform of HHH and plan on doing my own production going into the end of this year and beyond.
Ummm...I like long walks and puppy dogs and cool glasses of Gatorade...

Woah.
This site is amaZing! I'm a 26 year old youth minister. I've been working with the youth almost 7 years now, but like most YM's who live in small towns, it's purely a volunteer job, full time, but I LOVE working with teens. I totally love this site and I'm pretty sure it will come in handy with the new year! Let's see, what else? I dance the hokie pokie and can make icecream. I'm also a kick the can champion. So watch out! =P
prayers to all of you guys and gals!

What's goin on brethren and sisteren (ha...ya boy made up a word!) Its' ya boy PZ, cofounder of S.E.A.L.S. Ministryz...where SEALS stands for Saints Engaged Against Lucifer 4 Souls...cuz THAT'S WHAT WE ABOUT! I'm new to the message board, but have checked up on HCR regularly.
I'm down in San Antonio TX for the time being, and things are poppin OFF for the Kingdom! I was visiting Trinity Church for a good year and a half but when I got ready to join, the Spirit pulled me out of there. Oddly enough, I have not found a new regular place of worship since..which I'm thankful for because it has driven my personal relationship and my seeking of the Truth from HIS word directly to be stronger than ever. And I really believe that was by design!
We are heavily connected with underground Christian Hip Hop artists nationwide and are all about serving the kingdom. We are taking it behind enemy lines, forget sittin still letting the devil come at us...we taken it TO HIM FIRST! Just like them Navy Seals, we never leave a man behind...we ain't church folks and are here to lift up anybody who has slipped, is falling, has falling or on their way back up. We all humans, accept our faults and build together by leaning on each others strengths!
Man..I'm lookin forward to build with everyone, not just on the board but off the board. There is strength in numbers so long as everyone is ready to move in the same direction, AND THAT MY FRIEND...should ONLY be about serving the Lord and leadin others to their eternity in heaven!
Ya'll holla at me! I take this walk seriously, so let's GET IT!

1 Timothy 1:15Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 17Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. what's up everyone! I don't remember when and for how long I've known about this site. I am a female who grew up in eastern North Carolina. I just graduated from undergrad in Maryland. My family just moved to central Pennsylvania, so I've been here (PA) for the summer, and in a couple of weeks I will be moving out to the Bay Area, Cali for grad school. I have been a member of the body of Christ since I was young, but in recent years, I feel as if I've been oscillating. In the midst of all the changing that's going on in my life, God has been pulling on my heart to get off the milk and also dig deeper, if you know what I mean. So, here I am.
Peace and blessings,

What's good fam? If you look at my post im technically a newhead. However, I have been around here for a while just viewing/reading the post from others (and occasionally taking some of the topics to my friends and fam and discussing)... A little bit about me.
Name: Jody
Location: South Central Los Angeles, CA
Church: Gospel Faith Clinic, Grace of God, Inc. (Pastor Phillip Wilson & Asst. Pastor Fannette Douglas)
Gender: Male (My name might confuse some)
I'm a musician for my church and outside my church (keyboard) I sing (solo, choir, praise and worship). I accepted Christ into my life at an early age. I strayed away as a young teenager but now i'm back and representing him to the fullest. I came across the HCR Forum by accident while doing a search on the web (don't remember for what)... I clicked the link... and started reading topics... and I've been around (even though I was lurking in the shadows) ever since. If you want to know more about me hit up my myspace page... and while you're there add me as a friend. http://www.myspace.com/imperfect323
That's about it. Thanks for allowing me to introduce myself. I hope to get to know you all well. Pray for my as I pray.

Wassup everybody, praise God. I go by Souljah 77 here, but on the CMR board I'm soldier77. I'm a 30-year-old, newlywed male, this weekend our anniversary!!) with son on the way in December. I've been checking out the HCR board for a minute and registered, but lost the confirmation e-mail so I had to log on thru another email. So glad I can join in now. Grace and peace, looking forward to chatting with everybody.

Hey all, some of you older cats already know me, it's Colby (aka Kobe/Skreetpreacha)... QS told me about a HHZ thread on here from myspace, lol, so I came to check it out and registered again. I've been banned from every HHH board imagineable, lol. Sometimes for me bein an immature and argumentative Christian at the time, other times simply for my denominational views. Anyway, what's in the past can stay there, so I hope you all can give me a fresh start as I give you one. :-) ... I don't even believe in "debating" anymore, so no worries on that tip, I'd just like a place to come while I'm drinking my coffee in the morning and be edified about what other Christians have to say and what God is doing in their lives. I'm in a "work season" of my life right now, working 80 hours a week, so I probably won't be on much right now anyhow.
For those of you who don't know me, you can get more info at www.myspace.com/skreetpreacha even tho I haven't updated my page in Forever. :-P
Lookin forward to meeting and re-meeting ya'll, God bless

Great to be here, I'm dj but most importantly a child of the King of Kings, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I attend a tight knit youth group down under in australia..Yup the australian way fam. From the West Coast, no not where HillSong are from, their from Sydney..
I am South African, been here 8 years now. Fell in love with music when I started listening to Maxwell, Jamiroquai, Sade and Brand New Heavies..Yup a bit of that Pop flavor happenin..Music all changed up for me when I heard a tape my older brother left around the house. CECE WINANS "EVERLASTING LOVE" I believe it changed my life, the anointing and pure sincerety of worship in her lyrics and attitude touched my heart to the point where I needed to know not only why my brother stopped smoking weed and his life was completely changed but why did the music touch my heart in the way it did..I knew it wasn't jus anything. There was some type of power that I didn't understand. I started reading His Word, god's word..I found that it was His love that was the power, and the power of Holy Spirit entered and I gave my heart to the Lord..
Yo and since then I been diggin deep, not that deep lately but need to..I later heard Tonex Pronounced Toe-Nay and I wondered why this didn't cross over to mainstream..This was tight, I started searching for more music, only to find that there other people who the Lord was leading me to make mixes for, buy cd's for and spread the Gospel in this way before I ever got boards..
Yo there's more to the story but I'd keep yah on here for a minute..
Yo will speak soon..So holla..

What's Up Fam,
I guess you can say i'm a new cat. I got me a user name a while ago but it's been a nice minute since I been on and never really chopped it up with everyone. Now I got my laptop/internet connection tight I will be around getting it in with the People of God.
I wrapped my arms around my savior "Jesus Christ" back in 1997 and truely gave him my all. I got married back in 2001 and we had our first child "Yoshua" in 2006. I am From Detroit Michigan "The Thumb Of the Mitten" or "Holy Glove" and I go to Family Victory Fellowship where I was over the youth ministry for 2 years but when things started picking up with our Ministry Rap Group "God's Army" I had to take a step back because we were in and out of the state a lot plus I'm still working as a Manufacturing Engineer full time so it's kinda hard to do it all even when we want to. Oh yeah my group were the first in History to release a CD and a Book that explains all of the lyrics line by line, a lyrical commentary if you will (check out the website to see what we got going on) We are also on itunes and 3hmp3.com and a few of the HCR cats played our Stuff Good looking out yall!!
I listen to a lot of the podcasts and am trying to catch up on what's going on, on the boards. So Reach out and lets build. I'm looking forward to kicking it with everyone on the board.
Send me a message or Two let me know what you think

Hey Fam!! First up I've learnt so much from this board, so much love to this community!
I don't know how I came across here but been lurking since I think '05, around the time I gave my life to Christ. It was somewhere in between trying to find more music by the Souljahz (I heard two of their songs in the game Project Gotham Racing on the Xbox, what are the chances?) after throwing out hundreds of unedifying albums, to being introduced to CM and it was history! Heaven's Mentality and House of Representatives blew me away fam and still does :)
Then I came across The Yuinon website, read through the articles, joined the forum May '05 (remember that one lol) and got so much help from those guys in more ways than they'll possibly know on this side..
So with all that said, I go by the name AK which I had given to me (folks kept mispronouncing my name lol) & it now stands for "All 4 His Kingdom". I'm 18, come from the UK, got into making beats to keep up with the writing and haven't stopped since!
Grace & Peace to you all!

Thanks for the welcome fam. Yea if I don't finish of the podcast on my journey I finish it off when i'm on lunch. BTW is the Epiphany podcast still running on iTunes? Yeah it's a new feed. You have to go to their site and go to online sermons think copy and paste the link into your itunes. it should pop up with a list of all the sermons and just download the ones you want. The Great Sin was banging talking about Pride it hit me so hard I well I need to stop saying I. See I learned already it was good don't worry about how I felt about it I might be saying it out of pride. I may sound confusing but when you hear it you will feel me.

My name's Kojo - I'm from Buford, Ga but in college in upstate NY. I'm an engineering/Africana studies junior and run track (long sprints) for Cornell and love almost all types of music. Favorites are GRITS, Japhia Life, Pillar, T-Bone & the 116 Clique. Back home, I attend the Tabernacle International Church and up here I go to Bethel Grove Bible Church. In other news.. it's dark times for Atl sports (an the system did my bulldogs dirty in college football haha) but I'm a Braves and Falcons fan. Hawks not so much. I found this site by snooping around the web looking for HHH news. Holla at me anytime. God bless, y'all

Well..I guess im the new guy.
So...just a lil rundown.
Im Jay from Virginia. 19 years old, full-time college student, the works.
Holy Hip Hop and I go waaaaay back. Nah, not really. I probably was first exposed to christian rap about 5 years ago. I visited a guest church for some sort of celebration, like a fun day, and as a prize I won a christian rap cd. And the rest is history as they say.
How did I learn about this site? I was on soundclick and I came across K Drama's Christmas song "Im Blessed". It was only a snippet so I wanted to find a full-version of it. I googled it and it took me to the Holy Culture Radio Podcast Blogspot. From there I find more songs that I liked from newer artists that I wasnt really exposed to. I went BACK to soundclick and searched a couple artists and actually found the link to this forum on one of the artists pages.
A long journey, but Im here now.
Where I am, its really hard to find a decent selection of christian rap, so I have to resort to the internet for any news on the Holy Culture scene.
Holy Culture is a blessing.

God bless e'rybody. i'm new to the board as of this winter. Most people call me O, some oppose. i work in admissions and I also work as a youth minister in west philly. i emcee too. i've been blessed since moving up here from DC and to DC from my home in Norfolk, VA. God is still working on me I definitely don't have it all together, but when i look back i'm glad for His people helping me. so i guess i'm pretty open to hcr being a tool for God in areas of weakness for me that i may not be aware. i live in philly with my beautiful wife and 9month old daughter. what else? oh i'm 28, the church i attend and serve in is Monumental Baptist church and i found out about hcr a while back but dj wade-o really put the bug in my ear and then i met vic at my album release so that's when i joined.
God bless and can somebody tell me how to go to stickys and post new threads?
thanks for the welcome

What's up everyone! My name is Jeanine, some people call me NeNe, but my kids call me mommy. I live in Grand Rapids, MI and I attend Calvary Chapel at the moment. I am also the famous wife of Conviction. I heard about the board from all the yelling I had to do to get Conviction off of this site. I decided to join after meeting some great people from the board at the Legacy Conference in Chicago last year. My husband has converted me into a hip hop fan, mostly by waking me up with his beats at 2am. I spend most of my time taking care of our two kids so I don't know how often I will be able to post on here. I am really just looking for some Christian fellowship, so I hope I came to the right spot.

Hello...I am 25 years old and I found this website through my husband. He finally convinced me to join over the weekend and so I did. Also we fellowship at Mclean church in tysons corner. It is non-denominational and we just recently found it. Prior to that we were going to another church that we believe was not doctrinely sound. Anyways I love the idea of being able to speak with other believers about theological issues so that I can grow and learn further in this walk. Be blessed!

They are doctrinally sound and well schooled, so we just settled in with them. I found out about this site by accident I think. I was searching around for gospel rap and came across the blogger download site. I am also looking to use His-Hop as a medium to spread the Gospel and get the word out. My daughter asked me if I'm going to be an old rapper, lol, all I could do is laugh because she was correct. Anyway, feel free to hit me up on my site, www.ministryallday.com, and give me any tips, pointer, correction, whatever that will help me get the word out in a palletable form for today's youth. What's good family? I'm reppin Los Angeles. I heard about this board on CMR's website and thought I'd check it out. I used to do secular music and now I'm just looking for direction from the Lord. I love hip hop but I love Jesus even more...

I'm a new dude who's a big Christian rap fan, and I have also been rapping for years. I'm here to get to know people and hopefully make some connections in this small (but growing) community we call Christian hip hop. Peep Luke 24 if you don't know the meaning to my name :)

Grace and peace brothers. Enjoy yourselves.
I see you already got some work in on the random acts of violence thread. Funny thing is....I was just bored at work and decided to post something mad random and wild...then dudes just jumped on there and it just went crazy!!!! Hilarious thread. But I'm not sure if it's as funny as vic's thread.
The one that says, "you ever hold something in for a long time that you wanted to tell someone" I call it the confessions thread.
Oh yeah, Btw, I'm deadmanwalking and iramble a lot.

I've had a few posts already, but I guess I'll introduce myself.
My name is DJ Transform, aka DJ GRub aka Grubernaut. I've been in the faith for about 8 years and DJing for at least a dozen.
I was spinning with-in the local secular hip hop community, but recently felt called to be more bold with my faith after attending this past flavor fest Saturday concert and Sunday chruch service (I'm the dude from Canada :) ). I went there expecting to find Christians doing Hip Hop, but found a Church community that used Hip Hop to celebrate and give testimony of their love for Christ! The love of the church community was amazing!
Witnessing the CrossMovement concert was one of the most moving Holy Spirit moments I've had. And prior, I didn't even listen to them.
I left wanting to move to Tampa, but came to realize that God has me here in Calgary (Population 1M) as an urban missionary. Now I'm trying to figure out what that means. hah.
So I'm here on hcr.fm/forum for fellowship with people of like mind, and hoping ya'll can help me figure out what an urban missionary is. I hear the sincerity in the tracks I spin, but am breaking new ground in my city.
Blessings to anyone that read this whole story!

On that note, this thread will be closing.
Never fear - new folks will still get the opportunity to post intros over in the INCHRO forum (http://www.holycultureradio.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=84). :) We encourage everyone to keep an eye out over there and when new folk appear, just bless them with all sorts of goodliness and welcomeseseses. ses.
We also have a new way that new folks will be coming into the board....and a few new announcements and policy changes and things.
HCR is changing. :) I'll close this one in a little while.
*edit*
Now that this one's in the hall of fame, the official 'welcome center' is over here:
http://www.holycultureradio.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=84
If you're new and posting, or if you've been gone for a while....come on through and say what's up.
