    Default NBA 2014-15 thread

Instead of posting the current season stuff in GOAT Lakers thread, let's just post it in here.

What's your thoughts on this Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith, Waiters trade?

Defense is still shaky and without a good coach Cavs are not cohesive. Lebron needs glue (ie a coach, solid veteran) he hasn't be able to translate his skills into leadership that allows his teamates to gel.

Do you think they may try to flip Smith for another big?

Not Smith but Brendan Haywood and his Non Guarenteed Contract...they also that large trade exception as well.

getting rid of Josh Smith was a genius move by Van Gundy. The Pistons have been on a roll since.

    Ras,

do do you think Detroit can make a push in the playoffs? They have a lot of time to make a push. I think Van Gundy looked at Toronto doing addition by subtraction when they traded Rudy Gay and pulled the trigger.

6-0 to be exact while the spurs have lost 8 of their last 12.

Detroit absolutely CAN make the playoffs..I believe they are only a few games out of the 8th seed right now.

Yeah, I don't trust Wade and his injuries. So I think we got a shot at 8th spot barring a major injury.

Good trade for the Cavs and OKC but bad for the Knicks. I understand giving up J.R. Smith but including Shump in the trade for essential a 2nd round pick is bad. Danny Ainge level bad. I think Phil could at least got a 1st for that trade. The Cavs gave up 2 first rounder for Mosgov but don't understand why the Knick couldn't get one 1st rounder for the JR and Shump trade.

The Knicks are not trying to build through the draft they are trying to build through free agency so they made the trade to free up money. A first round draft pick is a guarantee contract but a second round pick is not.

I am curious to see what the Cavs will look like after they get everybody healthy and all their pieces together. They are definitely a stronger team now but I am now sure how strong. It is hard to put together a championship team with a coach who has no NBA experience.
