    Default Random Thoughts Thread

Since most of my threads go unnoticed I decided to merge my thoughts here. Y'all can do the same if you'd like to.

Has Omri dropped anything since his feature on shai linne's AOG?

Are there any Christian artists in the vein of Esperanza Spalding, Robert Glasper

    How was y'all's Christmas?

Has anyone listened to Spzrkt's cd that just dropped? How about Kareem Manuel's? What was our thoughts on it?

Anyone know if there's been an update on Armond's album, Kairos?

    J. Johnson is running round callin hisself the Ghostwriter? Who is he writing for?

Leah Smith, Abimaro and the Free, Lisa McClendon, JAMM, J.R. and more I'd have to think on

    How was y'all's Christmas?

It was cool, plenty family plus too much snow, you?

I guess he could be an answer to your above question, very eclectic/ versatile artist and solid project

Anyone know if there's been an update on Armond's album, Kairos?

He's preparing to get it mixed so likely will see it by mid next year, he's dropping a mixtape before the album earlier in the year.

So I'm watching this Montreality interview with Ghostface and I'm just jealously in awe of him being allowed to articulate his faith unencumbered and without ridicule. I pray that as CHH artists interact with maintstream press they're allowed to do the same.

I broke down and started listening to rap again, any physical cds i should cop from this year?

Where did the dumb idea come from that musicians should only work with producers or engineers of the same faith?

I can't speak for them but I know for me it's situationally based. There is a difference between sinful and secular. I assume this will be a perpetual debate until He returns tho. To the mature saints I'd assume the debate is a nonfactor tho.

    For many it's Ephesians 5:4-14:
Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,
    “Awake, O sleeper,
    and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
Many think that entering into a contract with an unbeliever who also does work that promotes a sinful lifestyle is a partnership which is clearly forbidden, particularly by verse 11. I don't completely agree with the line of reasoning but think it's definitely more than just piety and more than a dumb idea. To me, it depends on if the actual song being collabed on is promoting darkness, not necessarily what the person's past work has been. Although wisdom should be taking when working with cats who are known for doing trifling things.
