    Default Reformed Contemporary Christian Music?

I just came across "Thankful" by Caedemons Call and it got me thinkin there's gotta be other reformed CCM artists out there. That song is an awesome example of how CCM artists can mix good theology in with a contemporary christian worship song. Can someone help me out.

    Thanks!

Lyrics to "Thankful" by Caedemons Call

    Caedmons Call - Thankful
    From the album 40 Acres

I ran across an old box of letters
While I was bagging up some clothes for Goodwill
You know I had to laugh that the same old struggles
That plagued me then are plaguing me still
I know the road is long from the ground to glory
But a boy can hope he's getting some place
But you see, I'm running from the very clothes I'm wearing
And dressed like this I'm fit for the chase

    No, there is none righteous
    Not one who understands
There is none who seeks God
No not one, no not one

I am thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own

'Cause we're all stillborn and dead in our transgressions
We're shackled up to the sin we hold so dear
So what part can I play in the work of redemption
    I can't refuse, I cannot add a thing

'Cause I am just like Lazarus and I can hear Your voice
I stand and rub my eyes and walk to You
    Because I have no choice

I am thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own
I'm so thankful that I'm incapable
Of doing any good on my own

It's by grace I have been saved
Through faith that's not my own
It is the gift of God and not by works
    Lest anyone should boast

    Label: Essential

Be sure to check out Derek Webb's solo stuff. Obviously if you dig Caedmon's (which he was in) then I think you'll like DWebb solo.

Check out "A New Law" from the "Mockingbird" album especially and the new "The Ringing Bell" joint is rocking too.

that isn't distinctively reformed as much as it is BIBLICALLY SOUND. It's a breath of fresh air in the smog filled city of christian songs based on biblical sounding concepts

Yeah, Derek Webb's stuff is on point. His songs "I Repent", and "Wedding Dress" are .

Also you should check out a rock group called Mainstay. They go to John Piper's Bethlehem Baptist church in Min. All their music is sound and endorsed by Piper too, lol. I'll post a link so you can hear an interview they did a year ago on WOTM Radio where they discuss some of the theology behind their songs and you can hear their hearts for the Gospel and listen to a few samples. Their song "Take Away" is about how as human beings we have no rights to anything. Its about how since God has given us every good thing He has the right to take anything He wants away from us including sin and His good gifts. "Well-Meaning Fiction" is about how the modern "Love Gospel" is a distortion of the true Gospel and how it does not have the power to save anyone.

Here's a link to the Way of the Master Radio Interview with Mainstay

    Matthew Smith is reformed.

All I Owe is probably the best reformed Christian comtemporary acoustic soul rock album out there. He modernized(updated) reformed hymns on his album.
