Please remember my wife and I, along with four others from our church, as we head to the Philippines this coming Friday. It will be my first time returning since 2011, and my wife's first return to her native land.

We will be part of a medical mission to the people of Malita, Davao del Sur. This region was hit with back to back natural disasters near the end of last year, displacing some 60,000 or so Filipinos. Davao is in the southern part of the Philippines where the Muslim population is great. Please pray for our protection, and most importantly, that the gospel would take root in those whom we meet, many of whom will be Muslims.

Warm Up acts: Warm up acts doing what warm up acts do. But one of them was interesting in that they actually lip synched their song. Can't remember seeing a rapper do that before at a concert. Some of them were bad. You know you're bad when half the room goes for a bathroom break. I knew it was over for one dude when this old white dude next to me said "Hey, who is this guy? He's good!!" He knew nothing about rap.

W.L.A.K- First of all them dudes are tall except for you know who. Never knew Alex was that tall. I'm 6'1 and from a distance he looks like he might he might be my height or taller. Adam Thomposon (sp?), Collision Founder, looks like he's like 6'4 or taller. Performance wise I looked forward to them the most because I've seen Truth, Andy perform before. They started off with "Imagine". Then they went into different songs they were featured on. For example, Swoope did "Fallin Down". Dre Murray did "116". It was a double edged sword. Good from a concert perspective that it got the crowd hype off those songs. Bad because I don't wanna hear Reach songs during a W.L.A.K. performance.

Chris Gray surprised me the most. He's a hype energetic performer. Didn't expect that because I saw him live a couple of years ago with the Elevationist which of course did more layed back music. So I didn't expect this "other side" of this excited, hand clapping dude. What was dope about his performance was the way he sounded on the CD is the way he sounded live. Which proves he's a good singer and doesn't need autotunes and all that other crap.

As I said in WLAK review Alex Faith sounded best when he flowing fast. Dre Murray held his own. Him and Chris Gray brought the worship vibe as you can imagine with "Arena". And Swoope ripped it as usual and even did a stage dive. Though if there was a star it clearly was Chris Gray with his singing and energy. They closed out with YHWH, which as you can probably guessed got the crowd the hypest.

Da Truth He started out with "Declare War". Fist were pumping everywhere. Then he went from crunk to rock with "WIthout God". Then things got strange because went from Da Truth the rapper to Da Truth the singer. You know Kirk Franklin's influence on him. So it's like he turned into a Gospel singer for lack of a better word. Singing "Life is Hard" off his previous album. Then "Can't Believe". And that song went on for a LOOOOOOOONG time. I wanted to stage dive head first on the floor to stop the torture. I would have even welcomed being water boarded. Anything to stop the torment. Then he closed out with "Hope". I always enjoyed his energy but his song selection was eh at this one. I would have loved if he had done the songs with Chris Gray "What about love". Or "Peace" with Swoope. If they're there why not use them? Never get that. I have the same problem with Reach. If you got Thi'sl there for example, why not do the joint songs?

Andy Mineo- He said his last name was Men-e-o. Not Muh-nay-o. Don't get why people pronounce his last name that way. He performed most of the songs from "Hero", with some songs from "Formerly Known". He basically used the "Reach Records" model of concerts. Take the theme of the album and tie it in with spiritual principles, the Gospel.

Energy wise, of course, the crowd was feeling it. But it wasn't as "rah, rah" as when I saw his "Formerly Known" set last year. What I mean is this. They got hype on the hook parts of some songs but hype for the whole song. For example, "Take Me Alive". They loved the hook but again hyped for the whole song? No. "Uno Uno Seis", "You Will" they were hyped for the whole song. I was happy he performed "Caught Dreaming" though.
