Man, I have a problem with porn, have been a slave to it since I was 12, and I don't want to do this ANYMORE!!! Every time it seems I have it defeated, it comes and haunts me even worse than before. Please, if you can, pray for me. I want to move on with my life, and this sin is a major barrier. It, along with other minor vices, are keeping me away from God. God's been saying He's tired of my sin and procrastination, and He wants to use my gifts to help people. I don't even know what to say anymore...:(

I'm going to be honest with you fam, I know how you feel. (Might sound weird a girl that watches porn but I did) I have watch it when I was 12 too. I didn't know that it was wrong but after while I got I addicted to it. I was struggling at the age of 12. I hated myself because I knew that it was wrong later on. I cry about it. I could not understand myself. Like why do I do this. But I kept praying to God about it. But you know what you will get though it, I have been delivered from it. I know you will too. I have kept the tv out of my room. I don't watch rated R movies. If I see a sex sence I will leave the room. I know myself fam so that why I don't have a tv in my room and watch out what is on tv. Fam I am praying for you. Things will get better. Keep praying about it. I got you fam. I willl be praying.

I think this is a problem A LOT of bro's in Christ have suffered from. Along with my prayers, I have a reccomendation for you. If possible, fast. When I say fast, I don't mean from food, but from the computer. The computer can be a deadly thing if used incorrectly. I'm considering it myself, but not due to porn, but I become glued to it and become unproductive. If your porn watching isn't on the computer, fast from your TV. I'm sure there's no reason you can't do without TV. Also, one reason we Christians fall in to sin sometimes is due to distance from God. We distance ourselves from Him by neglecting Him. Read the Word, it will help purify and renew your desires. Just remember that you are rejecting God and acting in spite of Him when you sin fam. I pray that these suggestions serve you well.

Bro. I definately have you in prayer. I also struggled with Porn since childhood. Stay faithful to God, especially when the temptation is strong. The more time you spend seeking the face of God, is less time you have to seek the backs of females.

Praying for you, fam. Have you ever truly repented of this? I don't speak of judgment, but from experience. I, too, like many, used to have a problem with pornography. If it will help, I'll post my own testimony from a message I did for my email ministry.

yessir, porn is a beast. not only that, but masturbation and lustful thoughts. the latter is the root of the problem, so i encourage you to pray for deliverance from the desire of sex. pray constantly, EVEN WHEN YOU ARE NOT TEMPTED; you need to prepare for the battles ahead. read mad scripture, and find someone that will keep you accountable. not just anyone, but one that is disgusted w/ the sin as well and will be hurt by your disobedience (though it doesn't affect them directly, it's still good to have someone that will show that they hate your sin also). before we were married, my wife was key to my battle. now some have differing views on how much you should share w/ a woman that you're not married to, so if i sinned in this situation, Lord forgive me. but i confessed to her everytime i fell and one of the most motivating factors in helping me stop was seeing the deeply hurt look on her face. she once told me that when i submit to my lusts, she felt like she wouldn't be good enough for me sexually. MAN, talk about motivation. though our motivation is to please the Lord, He uses normal means to help us do that. also, my wife gave me an ultimatum: "you cannot propose to me until you have ceased masturbation for at least 6 months, and never again after that." well, talk about even more motivation, haha. anyway, the Lord eventually gave me great victory over this (though not complete), and now, i desire my wife w/o much thought of other women (like i said though, it's still a struggle, just greatly weakened). stay up fam. i will pray for you and PM me if you want to talk about it more.

love ya bro,

hey,
i struggled w/ it off and on for about 5 1/2 yrs. It went off and on through my prayers and seeking to stop it. What God used for me was being surrounded by His children in real community. That made me see the beauty of community under God and I didn't even have to try to stop looking at porn after that. By God's grace He just changed my desire. It was the most clear redemption from any sin that I'd experienced. I'll pray for you. Faith in God and hope in His Kingdom is more beautiful than any sin. He in His grace sought me with His kingdom and righteousness and I don't even want to look at porn anymore. I know He can do the same for you!!!

Grace, Peace and Love,
David

i know this all to well man, trust me! lol it's a battle, but its like dj k said, we gotta continually repent even when we feel condenmation from ourselves, which is not from God. Even now im seeking his face and asking him to continually change me and make me new! one of the only ways the mind can be renew is through, deep and sincere prayer. another is to stay in the word and know that God isn't far away but very near. its our sin that makes us feel like were far away and not good enough. so i'll pray for the both of us as well as all of us, cuz we need his strength! we are overcomers in christ!

I think that many women and men in the Body deal with this. Just by looking at the responses on this thread, we can see how prevalent it is within the Body.

Because of the life I lived before the Lord saved me from it, porn was a natural addition to it. It was also something I struggled with after I got saved. I am ecstatic to say that I no longer have the desire to watch it. And trust me when I say this -- I was addicted to it. It wasn't easy. It was painful to break, but the Lord is faithful and will not break His promises. He will deliver you, but you must be willing to show Him that you want that. You must be serious and not lax about it at all.

Some things you DEFINITELY need to do:

Get an accountability partner
Get X3Watch (http://www.x3watch.com) or Covenant Eyes (http://www.covenanteyes.com/) installed on your computer
Repent and truly seek the Lord for deliverance
Submit yourself wholly to God; Resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7)
Post Scriptures referring to obedience, purity, and sin around your television, computer desk and monitor
Read Romans 6
If you own any porn, throw it ALL away
Stay away from any store that may sell porn videos or magazines
Make sure you are part of a solid church; I can not stress how important this is to the Christian
Like Asia, consider taking your television out of your room
Stay way from primetime television; The majority of that stuff has no place in the Christian's life

Also, check out Timothy Brindle's song on it - Step Into the Light.

It is definitely something the Lord can cause you to be victorious over. He will not leave you there. Seek Him and He will deliver you. You have to yield to the Holy Spirit and not resist His Work.

I look forward to your victory celebration, fam. :)

Jenn

Christ alone,
JennWow, that is some of the best sound advice I've seen ^^^ (not taking away from anybody elses...but that was good)--yo Jito, you know you and I have built on this one. You also know that it's not easy, and that there is going to have to be a TREMENDOUS sacrifice on YOUR part to do what God has been telling you to do. Unplug the cpu. Don't TOUCH IT at home-and if you find yourself "falling" to it again, unplug it AGAIN and this time for a greater amount of time. Only YOU know what it will take to BREAK this thing over your life. I can tell you songs and sermons to listen to (there have been some GREAT suggestions in this thread) but only YOU know what it will take. Don't take it lightly. Do DRASTIC measures and fight for your freedom!

Praying 4 u bro. You know I am.

I would be lying to say that i haven't struggled with it, lust, porn, and masturbation its like one whoppin package. One thing ive learned from struggling with in the past is that you can't resist temptation on your own, stay in the word, pray, and all that, lust is a beast, still struggle sometimes, im glad i know my weakness(girls), so i can better run and defend it with God's word. Its hard, pray for me too, but i will also be prayin for you fam, GRace and Peace

So sad to see that porn has reached so many lives. I used to watch porn when I was unsaved. I dont think that I was extremely addicted to it, thank God. But what I did see in the future reaked havoc on me spiritually. One time after I was saved I stumbled on a vid my brothers had watched it. It was the worst 5 mins of my christian life. So much remorse and conviction came from it.

I have never seen a porn movie after that and have no desire to. I will be praying for you fam for your freedom from this.
