...about RedCloud and Syntax Records? Man of War is crazy good too. I think they just signed Tonex too.

RedCloud has a new album coming out this year and one song at the syntax records website has guest spot by Kurupt and Tonex. Freshness!

got a chance to hear RedCloud at Fla.vor Fest last year.

he certainly has skills in the delivery category. i think he can rhyme quicker than t-bone. so big up to his skills in that regard.

BUT WHAT IS HE TALKING ABOUT???

at fla.vor fest last year, i looked over at one of my roadies and said, "he could be pronouncing a curse over everyone and we wouldn't even know it!"

j/k. ;)

dude has talent.

i just need to know what folk are talking about.

i'm weird; that's already been established.

Lol, I love that guy. He's crazy(in a good way) and has a heart for my native peoples, can't argue with that.

He is also really fresh off the top too.

I don't think his delivery is that misunderstandable, maybe I'm just accustomed.

Who're your Native people?

ZestD

Native Americans, aboriginal Canadians, native Alaskans, indigeonous Mexicans. All the same, all here before whites and blacks.

What particular tribe? I'm from the Massasoit tribe.

I'm an enrolled Coeur 'd Alene tribal member in northern Idaho. I'm also like 1/4 Nez Perce and 1/8 Inupiaq(native northern Alaskan).

That's what's up. I'm not a card carrying member, but I'm 1/4th.

Back to the topic though....

I heard one of Cloud's songs maybe like 4 yrs ago, the song I heard was cool, but I wasn't really checkin for him.

Yes, Tonex is signed to Syntax now.

And yes, that's Kurupt from Dogg Pound fame.

Kurupt is serving Christ now?

Kurupt is serving Christ now?

That was my next question. I remember hearing a while back something about him and Christian rap, but I don't remember the details.

I see what your saying, however this was not 'the motive' for the Kurupt / RedCloud collaboration. Kurupt & Rasco called in to Power106 super impressed with RedCloud as an emcee (on the Whoa Call where RedCloud was Champion 6 weeks in a row) and the relationship just grew from there. There are some excellent oppurtunities for talented Christian emcee's to minister to people who have a much larger influence.

For example, whomever was involved in Billy Graham's salvation here on earth, prolly had no idea that he would be 'assisting' (think soccer) on one of the twentieth century's hardest working evangelists.

PS DJ Wise is on that new KRS One record produced by Tunnel Rats. He and KRS are going back and forth, it's good stuff.

This is taken from a convo on sphere.

I just think it's dope and sad for an indie Christian artist to get more love from secular artists than the 'christian' market.

Sad for the 'christian' market to routinely ignore great talents within it's realm, that is.

Any thoughts on the RedCloud/Kurupt hookup?

Yes, that's rough. All the more reason to work hard to help that continue to change
